About The Project

Hip-Hop Legend was made just for fun as an experiment of mine. Recently, I watched a documentary series called Hip-Hop Evolution, which tells the story behind the Hip-Hop's creation on the South Bronx - New York City (as well as The Get Down). And by seeing the interviews with the firsts MCs and DJs of the world, I got spirited about that.

So, I watched a tutorial video by Wes Bos that uses the audio API from HTML5 with vanilla JavaScript. I took advantage of that and made this side-project in a day and half, using beats and loops from Hip-Hop instead of a drum kit like in the tutorial. It was an opportunity to improve a little bit of my knowledge and build something without jQuery for the first time in my life (although the code is not the very best).
